AltruWood doug fir reclaimed timbers are remarkable for their beautiful patina, old-world character, and dry, stable state.
We prefer to buy our douglas fir timbers from large-scale deconstruction projects rather than from barns. In doing so we avoid issues with mortise holes and moisture problems common with the Pacific Northwest. Every timber is hand-picked according to your order.
AltruWood Reclaimed Doug Fir Timbers
- Wide variety of sizes from 2” x 4” to 28” x 42”
- Available surfaces: rough sawn, nominal
- Graded timbers for structural applications are also available.
Nominal grade timbers have the original aged patina. However, due to being planed before being used in their previous application, their surface is slightly smoother. Consequently, their size might be up to 3/4” smaller than the listed size. For example, an 8” x 10” may actually measure 7 1/4” x 8 1/2”.
Rough sawn grade timbers retain their original texture created by the saw that cut them decades ago.
