AltruWood’s AltruCedar siding is FSC certified western red cedar from British Columbia. It comes in a variety of sizes, grades, and patterns making it perfect for most siding applications.
Western red cedar is known for its rich, reddish hues that can vary from amber to chocolate brown. Depending on the finish, specifying color can be just as important as specifying the grade and pattern.
We sort our western red cedar by color in addition to grade resulting in our customers receiving the highest desired appearance.

Step 1: Choose your product.
AltruCedar is Kiln Dried.
The biggest factor in pricing your product will be the basic dimension of the siding you choose.

Step 2: Choose your profile.
The profile will establish the look of your project. Be sure to choose the profile that is in accordance with your project goals.
- Plain
- Rabbeted Bevel
- Channel/Lap
- Tongue & Groove
- Tongue & Groove Micro Bevel

Step 3: Choose your grade.
- B & Better Clear. Clear grade cedar with slight characteristics allowed, certain percentage of material is A-grade.
- STK. Stands for “Select Tight Knot”. Creates a more rustic appearance, great for when clear grade is not required.
Step 4: Choose your face.
- Rough sawn. A face with character, slightly rough to the touch.
- Smooth face. Smooth to the touch and ready to be finished.
Step 5: Choose your other options.
- Fire treatment. Fire treatment is available and is a requirement for certain areas of the country. Talk to an AltruWood salesperson for more information on fire treatment.
