Douglas fir flooring is a timeless floor that is and has been the de facto choice of craftsmen bungalows up and down the west coast.  Unique in its versatility, its use in classic architecture makes it perfect for period and historic renovations and its clean, tight-growth vertical lines add warmth and elegance to the modern home.

Our customers cherish the AltruWood Reclaimed Clear Vertical Grain (CVG) Doug Fir Flooring due to the fact that the tight growth rings are not able to be replicated in today’s fast-harvested product.

The Janka hardness rating of douglas fir flooring is relatively soft at 660 compared to our FSC Certified White Oak at 1360.  It is important to note that, while soft, doug fir flooring wears well.  It tends to absorb nicks and imperfections into the character of the floor.

Customers of this floor have the option to specify the original use and in doing so can incorporate things like nail and bolt holes into the character of the floor.
