AltruWood supports responsible forestry.
AltruWood only sells and distributes new lumber that has been certified by a reputable accreditation agency. AltruWood has been chain-of-custody certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and our certification body is SGS. We source certified wood from all over the world and ship from multiple locations. As a result, we are able to work with our customers and suppliers to minimize transportation costs.
Due to the rapid growth of FSC Certified forestland, very few lumber products exist that AltruWood cannot responsibly source. For building projects seeking LEED Certification, in addition to providing certified wood, we often source and mill it from within 500 miles of the location (LEED Credits 5.1 and 5.2).
